ECPR : Robbie’s Racey In Return To The West

( Feb  1, 2012 ) - “The way I see it, we raced against over 150 cars and finished inside the top six on both occasions” explains Robbie Farr when referring to his Australian Championship assault last weekend in Adelaide and the Warrnambool Classic the weekend before, “and a lot of other teams couldn’t manage that. I think our boys did an excellent job, and have done throughout the month of January really. You always want to do better but I’m very proud of our boys.”

Farr brought the #7 ECPR Vermeer / Hi-Tec Oils / Orrcon Steel Maxim home in fifth place in the 40-lap Championship A-Main after three gruelling nights of competition in searing heat.

“We were mostly good, but we missed one critical thing in our set up for the feature race,” Farr admits, “and that was something that had a significant effect on our end result. I’m not unhappy, we did a great job really during all the major events in January particularly.”

There was little time to dissect the team’s performance at the Adelaide Nationals, with the big ECPR Hauler heading down the road and disappearing into the night bound for Kalgoorlie Western Australia.

Farr saddles up at the Kalgoorlie International Speedway this Wednesday night in Round Eleven of Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Championship where he currently sits third, just 23 points behind second.

“We always go well in WA, and we finished second at Kal’ last year. There’s no reason to expect we shouldn’t go well there this time as well.”

Kalgoorlie is the first of five rounds of World Series Sprintcars held in WA over seven nights including Albany, Manjimup, Bunbury and Kwinana.
